Game of Thrones characters coming along nicely

I think I've found my flow again for drawing, and I think it's because I had 5 days off last week (including the weekend), it was really nice to have some time off work and recharge my batteries. I've managed to nearly finish 2 out of 4 drawings, the reason Bran, Rickon and Arya Stark aren't finished is because I need to practice my hands, so I need my other half to be my hand model:

Sansa Stark
Catelyn Stark, added in with Ned who was already finished
Bran & Rickon Stark
Arya Stark
I'm just about to start work on Robb Stark and John Snow. Once they're done I have Viserys Targaryen, Jaime and Tyrion Lannister, and Tommen and Mrycella Baratheon left, then I can start to colour these in! I don't have any plans for the next 7 weeks now, so there's no excuse for me to not finish these (although I find plenty of reasons to procrastinate, ha!).

In other news, we went to see Muse last night in Birmingham, and had a blast! I took a few photo's, but concert photo's never turn out well because of the low lighting:

Drones

There are hands on the screens, and it's like the hands were controlling the band members like puppets on string
The Globalist. Not my favourite song, but they played it in full
All-in-all I've had a productive weekend, considering I didn't do an awful lot yesterday except the concert and driving. No plans for this week, I'm counting down to my holiday now which is in 7 weeks' time.

So, before I go, I'll leave you with my Pinterest of the week, it's not art-related, but I made this on Monday, and it was delicious! So easy too: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/314548355205608764/

Joffrey Baratheon finished, Sansa Stark started

Well, I mostly have Joffrey finished, I just need to sort out the length on his arms and add some hands:
And I have started Sansa, but I've only got the body shape down so far, which isn't interesting enough to post on here.

It's a long weekend here in the UK this weekend due to it being Easter, but I've been on holiday since Thursday (car had its MOT... and failed. It's OK, I got it fixed though). I was supposed to spend a big chunk of this weekend drawing, and instead I spent Thursday drawing for about an hour, then went out Thursday night in Nottingham (and drove!!). Friday I went for an 11 mile bike ride, interspersed with a couple of pubs and a trip to the local wildlife sanctuary:

What duck?

Peekaboo!
Saturday I went to the pub for the day (surprise surprise) and today I went to watch the new Batman vs Superman film. My verdict? It was OK. Better than what people are giving it credit, but it wasn't amazing. It didn't help I spent the first 2/3 of the film confused! I think I should've watched the last Superman film beforehand. Tomorrow is due to be bad weather, so I'll stop in, and *should* get some more drawing done. I'm about halfway there now with the line drawings, and I've sped up considerably. My longest character, Daenerys, took me 3 hours for the line drawing (she was the first character I drew), Joffrey took 1.25 hours. The quickest was Catelyn Stark at 1 hour.

I've spotted a good Kickstarter campaign that I'd love to back, but I'm skint at the moment, and to be honest I can do the same thing by scanning my art at work. You can find what I'm talking about here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/642311833/rocketbook-wave-cloud-connected-microwavable-noteb?ref=users

Anyway, that's enough of my waffling for one week. No plans mid-week next week, but on Saturday I'm going to see Muse, and I'm so friggin' excited!

So before I go, here's my Pinterest of the Week: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/314548355205477344/ I love the detail on this, how they've done the water droplets first before the rest, and it gives me hope that I'll be able to produce something this good with coloured pencils one day

Drawing-a-day is done for now

Howdy doody people! It's Sunday and I've only done half a week of drawing... and here it is:

29. Somewhere you'd like to go - space! Apologies for my very quick, crappy drawing of our galaxy...

30. Imaginary friend. Well, I didn't have one as a kid, but I pretended I had a barn owl, as I think these are beautiful birds. I tried to paint with the biggest brush possible to not get lost in the details... and I think I'm finally getting the hang of it :) Quite happy with the effort to quality ratio of this

31. Latest dream. Just to put this out there I regularly eat cheese before bed. As I did on this night. I was pretty upset I didn't manage to get tickets to the latest Muse gig. So in my dream I dreamt that Muse had gone to shit, and Matt Bellamy was hiding out in a camper van at the foot of the Canadian Rockies, and I was there consoling him. Weird.
So, I only managed 3 drawings this week before my Schoolism subscription started... and I fell right back into my old bad habits. There has been nothing stopping me from drawing the rest of the week, as I should've done, because I didn't watch the first Schoolism video I subscribed to until tonight. My last drawing was on Wednesday, so that's been 4 days of drawing I haven't done.

Anyway, moving on from the negativity, the first video has given me a lot to think over, and quite a big assignment at the end! I'm not sure how much of the video I can give away, but I think it's safe to say we'll see how my future drawings go, and how much interest they generate based on my learning from this course. I can tell you the course I signed up to was Painting Creatures. I normally come up with ideas in my sleep (as long as they're not cheese dreams like the above...), as in I like to sleep on ideas, and then the next day, or the next few days once my subconscious has had time to process the information I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do. I have 10 things to draw, which is more than what I draw in a week, but this is something I want to work on properly, not just bang out a drawing a day.

I'm already intrigued as to what my next blog entry will bring (hopefully not a big empty space!) and I hope you can join me next week to see what ideas my crazy cheese-addicted brain comes up with!
